CastTV is looking for a smart, pragmatic, driven Software Engineer to build fast and elegant web applications and interfaces to our video search/discovery technology.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of building web applications.
- Technical skills
- Ruby on Rails
- Javascript / AJAX / DHTML
- Hand-coded HTML / CSS
- Facebook App experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and develop large portions of products. We are a small company and need doers!
- Ideally, experience working on your own projects / products and/or contributing to the open source community.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
CastTV is looking for a quality-obsessed engineer to test the functionality and performance of our products. You will do black-box and glass-box testing of our product and help with scalability analysis. You will create and execute comprehensive test plans. You will file and manage bugs and partner with engineering to resolve and verify them. You will automate as much as possible but be willing to do manual testing when necessary. You will be a valued member of a team that truly believes delivering a high-quality product is key to our success.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years software QA experience.
- Proven track record of owning quality for major product releases.
- Experience testing n-tiered online services.
- Experience writing test plans, cases, scripts and suites.
- Experience using open source and commercial automated test tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze application issues to root cause where possible.
- Relevant educational background preferred.
- Passion for online video. You like watching videos/TV/sports/news, and you will strive to ensure that CastTV has the best product for searching for videos.

Product Associate
CastTV is looking for a smart, driven, and tech-savvy Product Associate to assume key product quality and product management responsibilities. You will do quantitative and qualitative analysis of our index of videos, search results, and web applications. You will help define requirements for product features. You will also contribute to other areas per your interests and bandwidth. This is a dynamic, high-impact position in a fast-paced small startup environment. It is an entry-level position that offers tremendous opportunity to grow with the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1+ year of relevant experience.
- Technical undergraduate degree or strong technical aptitude.
- Solid understanding of web sites and applications, including HTML and XML.
- Previous experience using the command line on Linux or Mac OS. (Should be comfortable running scripts, moving data, and installing software using the command line.)
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects on schedule with limited resources. We need doers who can meet deadlines!

CastTV is looking for an entrepreneurial executive to head up our marketing efforts - to own our marketing strategy and implement innovative web-based marketing programs. You will be responsible for driving our user acquisition, primarily through online, viral, guerilla, and buzz marketing. You will lead brand development/awareness and community-building. You will develop product requirements based on marketing objectives. You want to be hands-on, represent the company, make strategic contributions as part of the executive team, interface with the board, and contribute to CastTV’s success. This is an opportunity to drive the adoption of a market-changing product that is based on proprietary, defensible technology.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful track record driving user adoption of a consumer Internet product, ideally (1) before the product had significant brand awareness and (2) with a limited budget.
- 6+ years of online and offline marketing experience that demonstrates initiative, execution and results-focus, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing and executing all aspects of marketing campaigns. Initially you will constitute our marketing team - you’ll need to do everything from strategizing, writing copy, managing relationships, quantitatively measuring performance, etc.
- Strong knowledge of online marketing trends, analytics, and events.
- Strong network of relevant contacts.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
